NEW DELHI: JSW Paints on Thursday stated it’s reviewing the current order handed by the Competitors Fee whereby the regulator rejected the corporate’s criticism towards Asian Paints.
The corporate had alleged that Asian Paints was indulging in unfair enterprise practices and misusing its dominant place within the ornamental paints market.
“We don’t agree with the Fee’s order that Asian Paints has not abused its dominant place. We’re presently reviewing the order and can take acceptable steps to guard the pursuits of our prospects and sellers for a free and honest market,” A S Sundaresan, Joint MD and CEO of JSW Paints, stated in a press release.
Whereas the dismissing the criticism, the Competitors Fee of India (CCI), in its order dated September 8, stated the allegations made towards Asian Paints couldn’t be substantiated to type a prima facie view within the matter.
Within the assertion, JSW Paints stated CCI following an investigation based mostly on the criticism and thru the order has confirmed that Asian Paints is in a dominant place within the ornamental paints market.
“CCI order additionally reaffirms our view that paints sellers don’t have any countervailing shopping for energy and are on the mercy of Asian Paints and never vice-versa as claimed by Asian Paints,” it claimed.
